I'm playing it.

So there.

The Winds of Thor are Blowing...

...Cold

Here, at least. The wind is strong and bitter. Kinda like how some people like their coffee. The hurricane is ripping through the north east like a spoiled child tearing a part a room in a tantrum. In the mountains, west of here and a bit north, there's a blizzard.

But us, here in Charlotte, we're on the outside looking in, counting our blessings. My parents have been without power since 7:30. Cell phone reception is getting worse and worse. New York is mostly under water. It wont be long before looting starts.

Still, tomorrow is another day. And things can be fixed or rebuilt.

Hopefully there's still a Halloween on Wednesday. It should really be moved to the last Saturday in October, but that's another discussion for another day.

Too Tired to Sleep

So I'm going to watch some stuff instead. It'll probably be close to 4:30 when I finally lay down in bed. I probably still wont fall asleep. Maybe I'll start baking something. There's a 24hr Wallmart or two around here somewhere. I could go shopping. I do need ink for my printer.

I'm also drinking a pretty awesome Oreo milkshake.
-boom- milkshake
I could also try to win a fantasy football game by attempting to improve my roster. But then again, I'd probably do more harm than good.

Anyway, I'm off to be absurd or something to that effect. I leave you with these words from Jack Handy:

Love can sweep you off your feet and carry you along in a way you've never known before. But the ride always ends, and you end up feeling lonely and bitter. Wait. It's not love I'm describing. I'm thinking of a monorail.

G'night

Tired

Mentally more so than physically tired. Halloween is coming up soon. So check THIS out for some pumpkin carvings. And HERE are some drinks you could make.

And now for rest.

I'm Busier Than Usual

And it's not really doing the things that I want to be doing. But we soldier on...

I did want to write another "band post" talking about the bass player. Mostly to talk about John Entwistle and his bass play on The Real Me (he also did the horns, I believe). Then I thought something about Red Dwarf, including where I went wrong in trying to get people to watch it. Or there might have been some more comedy/stand-up stuff, some more art, some more grumblings bout the NY Jets, and so on.

But for now, I need to get going somewhere, so here's something from youtube.

Around

"Alice opened the door and found that it led into a small passage, not much larger than a rat-hole: she knelt down and looked along the passage into the loveliest garden you ever saw. How she longed to get out of that dark hall, and wander about among those beds of bright flowers and those cool fountains, but she could not even get her head though the doorway; `and even if my head would go through,' thought poor Alice, `it would be of very little use without my shoulders.' "
(Yes my arms are almost identical to Robin Williams's arms.)

The location of the Arch-Villains Exchange and Security Office.
I had no idea the Guild of Calamitous Intent was so close to work. That explains a lot.

Y'know What's Funny?

Being bad at your job isn't enough to get you fired, but pointing out that someone is bad at their job is enough to get labeled an insubordinate, criticizing elitist.

No, wait. That's not funny. That's a load of Grade A Bullshit.

You know what is funny? This is

So Close, But...

No cigar.

For my fantasy teams, the Jets, the pics, etc.

Music

I've been listening to, and enjoying, the new Baroness double album Yellow & Green. So I thought, why not spread the sounds?

Now I'm waiting for the new double album from Coheed & Cambria. Half of it's out, but the rest is coming next year.

Also Grooveshark has a web based streaming music player for iPhones, which I think is better than Pandora. It totally works. I got tired of Pandora's commercials whatnot. There is an app, but your phone needs to be jailbroken.

Well Now

What America like's to think it is. As opposed to this.

This keeps getting left behind by someone. It might not be there for much longer.

Yeah! I hate that thing, too!

I finally found my target audience.

Up & Down, Stuff & Junk

Football today was pretty all over the place. Much like my everyday life.

There's also been a constant noise/music all around the apartment complex today. If I could find where this music is coming from I'd put an end to it. Try to get things more in order. GTFO this place.

Step 1. Get new job

Step 2. Move to a new place

Step 3. I dunno... maybe some type of party?

But first, I'll need to focus on step 1.

Little More Work, Little Bit Dinner

Surprise shift at work lead me to really want something cooked for dinner, rather than just a sandwich. So I made this

Which, when cooked, looked like this

Not great, but it's good enough.

(tap-tap-tap) Is This Thing On?

Whoa, Tough Crowd

But seriously folks, I tell ya

Here's some stand up comedy. Mostly NSFW, though still funny.

Late Night, Early Morning, Late Night

How do I have so little money for the amount of time I work? I need to get out of here, if only for a vacation.

Out for Football

Out watching a few of the college teams play tonight. Which usually means I'll have a few, then switch to water. Because I'm Mr. Better-Safe-Than-Sorry. Or Mr. Responsible. Or Mr. I-Know-My-Own-Limitations. Or just plain old Mr. Buzz Killington.

Yes, I can give a pretty concise and accurate lecture on the history of England from 1066 to the present day at will. Why 1066 you might ask? Well, it's simply because it was the year of the battle of Hastings and the Norman Conquest.

See, there I go, spouting off facts and dates like an academic. Ho-hum...

Silly

So this was written....
 ...on the back of this

What if I refuse? What if I try to set up a constitutional monarchy and appoint myself as both head of state and head of the church?

Maybe I shouldn't let it go to my head.

Back...to the Record Store!

Yuuuup. It's that Donny Most. If only I had a record player.

Ah, yes. Who could forget the dulcet tones of Lorne Green. I'm sure none of the Cartwright's do.

How have we never seen this before? Such marketing strategy, "The Dum Dum" and the name. I wonder if it's T.A Jai, or if it's TA-JAI as in Ta-Da! Oh, who cares - it's on clearance!

Fancy...

Looks like something I'd start, but never finish...

Probably be funnier and make more sense if it said "Finishing Classes," but oh well. Time to wear an evening jacket to dinner.
