Grumble

It's hot. I want to move out of my apartment, but I don't have enough money to go anywhere better. I hate my neighbors, except for the one that just got broken into. I hate my job, but if I lose it I'm screwed. I hate looking for jobs. I'm tired. I don't sleep. I have a dozen aches that come and go.

And all this sounds like whining, which further annoys me.

And I have no idea where to start to make changes, which .

I'm reminded of a letter Stephen Fry wrote to someone who was also frustrated with life. It's at the site Letters Of Note. Here's an excerpt.

The wrong approach is to believe that they are illusions. They are real. Depression, anxiety, listlessness - these are as real as the weather - AND EQUALLY NOT UNDER ONE'S CONTROL. Not one's fault.

BUT

They will pass: they really will.
If you don't know who Stephen Fry is, you really should find out. He's had quite a life.

I'm off to take a shower.
